EPEEC coordinator Antonio Peña participated in the 31st International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis in Denver, Colorado on November 17-22, 2019. The event, more popularly known as SC19, is the most prestigious conference in HPC and attracts over 10,000 attendees yearly. Those who attend SC19 include people who work in research, industry, tech investment and media. Peña served as the SC19 Technical Program Vice-chair while EPEEC Scientific-Industrial Advisory Board member Pavan Balaji served as Chair.
Following the success of last year´s EPEEC presentation at the PRACE booth at SC18, the project once again teamed up with PRACE for SC19. Peña presented "The EPEEC H2020 Project: Programming Productivity at Exascale" at the PRACE booth at 11:00 am on November 19, 2019. His talk attracted a good number of people who asked him questions about the project afterwards. EPEEC-branded wireless earbuds and leaflets were distributed as well.
"I am very satisfied with the turnout at my presentation about the EPEEC project," Peña said. "I have met people who are interested in our research and we discussed possible collaborations in the future. SC19 is a great venue to connect with those who are also working in HPC software applications."
